Calibration Frames
I decided to get all my calibration frames set up tonight. While it was still light out, I decided to start with my dark frames. I thought I was getting light leaking in, but it turns out it was Amp Glow. I didn’t realized that at first and instead I just left my camera in the (outdoor) porch and set it up to take a bunch of longer dark frames overnight.
I took the rest of the calibration frames to so I was ready to go.
Target
The ASIAir told me that the “best tonight” object was Andromeda (M31), so I went with that. Until the leaves fall off the trees in my neighborhood, I am a bit limited to what I can see from my backyard. Luckily M31 is an option.
I took 20 300-second exposures (100 minutes total).
Stacking
I tried using both the ASIAir for stacking and Siril. You can read about my trial with Stacking in ASIAir here
