🔠2022 Gear Overview - I know it is 2023, but this hasn’t changed
Overview
I have a couple of problems this time of year. First is that the nights are pretty short. It doesn’t get really dark until about 10:00pm and then it seems like it starts getting light by 4:00am. The other is that there are not any fun targets in my backyard. Granted I only see a limited patch of sky because of some tress, so I do not get my pick.
I made myself a list of targets, and ended up finding M51 to be my best bet. Basically it seemed like it would be something that was visible for most of the night. It is pretty small for my telescope, so I could not get a lot of detail. But, it was cool to see the spirals.
I tried using a new battery pack I got, but I’m not sure if it was powerful enough to run all my equipment. I’ll have to experiment with that some more because my goal is to not need external power.
